Several posts ago, I mentioned that during the 5 days we spent at home in October, I came up with the bright idea that we needed a Professional Organizer. So from the initial thought to only a few days later, we found and interviewed enough people to decide upon the person who would be right for the task.
We set a date for her arrival, just 4 short days after we were to return home from our month of travel in October, and even though it was a bit rough, we came through it all with flying colors…

Would You Let A Professional Organizer Into Your Life?
I had actually planned to be a whole lot more productive once we got to North Carolina! But when I walked into our condo
on the beach, saw the surf and realized they were having some unusually warm weather for October, my plans flew out the window and I ”checked out” for a few days!
In fact, truth be known, I found the sounds of the surf so relaxing, that I kept napping on the living room couch every opportunity I could! And do you know what? We ALL needed it - and you do too from time to time! Don’t ever forget it! Pictured at right is Morgan at the wedding reminding us all to “take time to smell the roses!”
We had some great fun at the beach… take a look here:

Time For A Well Deserved Break At The Beach
Here in the United States, we are celebrating Thanksgiving today and along with it comes an opportunity for us all -
regardless of what corner of the world you call “home” - to reflect on the things in our life that we are grateful for. I’ve spent the past few hours reflecting and reading emails from our friends and colleagues around the world expressing similar sentiments and the heartfelt messages are pretty powerful.
It struck me as I’ve been reading all of the holiday greetings that so many of you are feeling the same “attitude of gratitude,” but are without a means to share it with the rest of the world! Initially, I was planning on writing a summary of what so many of you have shared with me, but I’m not sure I could do it justice. Your words are simply too powerful for me to paraphrase.
So I’ve decided to create this post so you can tell the world - right here, in your own words - exactly what you have to be thankful for today. This is your opportunity to give thanks and declare your gratitude below. Please leave a comment and tell us all about it! This is Powerful and you just never know who’s life you may touch in the process…
You hear a lot from marketers about how beneficial offline events are and Greg and I couldn’t agree more. But don’t think that you are limited only to offline events. A little talking and research will usually reveal one or more marketers in your
own backyard or close to places you may be visiting for one reason or another.
In our case, we noticed that Mike Paetzold was smack dab in our path as we were driving from New York to North Carolina and we wanted to make sure we took advantage of the opportunity to meet the master blogger up close and personal. You may recall that Marina did a podcast with Mike’s partner Erik while we were in San Francisco, so she was really looking forward to meeting her buddy too! So we were all pretty excited…
After saying goodbye to our Ohio friends, and wrapping up our final camping trip of the year, we returned home for the only 5 days we spent there in October. But it was certainly a productive 5 days! You see, the more time you spend away from home, you tend to notice a vast difference in how your house looks when you return. You see things you never saw before, and you experience your “living space,” in a whole new way.
Bottom line? It was time to hire a Professional Organizer and if I wanted to accomplish my goals of re-doing our entire house before the holidays, I had about 5 days to set the stage, so we could begin the project in November when we returned from our travels. So that’s how I used my 5 days at home in October - we interviewed organizers, set a schedule and pretty much planned the entire adventure (more on that in a future post) before we headed to Joe and Jackie in New York…
