Tornadoes, Wind Advisories and Kathe Lucas

We’ve been on the road for a week and we’re almost at our coaching destination in California, but before we even arrive we have already logged some incredible memories and a few tense moments too! The most exciting thing of all was meeting Kathe Lucas as we traversed across Tulsa, OK and blew into town (literally - but more about that in a moment.)

We’ve known Kathe online for a while, but never had the pleasure of meeting her in person and now, our morning coffee chat in the motorhome has officially recorded the first marketer who has visited our new “home.” Good thing she’s an early riser too, because our stay in town was just an overnight stop, but just like the trooper she is - bright and early Kathe showed up with the donuts!

And despite our short time together, we talked non-stop about our online projects, dreams, and how to bring more value and service to our respective online endeavors. It was a jam packed visit and delightful to meet the person behind the screen!

But we also got to see the other side of Kathe’s life that she mentions and that’s what it’s like to live in Tornado Alley. We’ve camped a lot already, but I can truly say that I’ve never arrived at a campground to check-in and been given instructions about what to do if warning sirens go off in the middle of the night and where to take shelter! In fact, we arrived in Tulsa to flooding and local warnings and it was all a bit surreal. It was very helpful to have Kathe giving us the insight of what to expect and guiding us - just another benefit of the wide network of friends we’ve made online.

We did make it through the night without any incident, but just knowing the devastation that this area endures makes us very respectful of mother nature. And little did we know, even after leaving Tulsa, mother nature was joining us along the way.

Over the next few days, we encountered 55pmh wind advisories, stopped early one day to get off the road and had a few, ummm, mishaps with our awning and such! It’s kind of ironic that an awning incident was what started our whole camping adventures almost a year ago and the Universe seems to have thought that it was time for a new one - since we left ours on the road somewhere in Arizona!

So on the eve of our 5 day intensive coaching with clients in California, the trip getting here has definitely been an adventure! And that’s exactly what makes it delightful!
